    Description

Every estate liquidator comes across items that are hard to identify.  This 7 1/4" vase is a perfect example.  It comes from an old Denver estate, and it is marked on the bottom with a red crown mark surrounded by a belt.  Within the belt is written "POMPEYI" (see photos).  There is no company name.  Nor is a country of origin listed.  There are other examples of POMPEYI pottery for sale on line.  Some list it as antique Hungarian majolica (Fischer), while others list it as antique English Staffordshire (possibly Minton, Pratt, Alhambrian among other makers).  There are several antique forums on line trying to figure out the history behind this interesting pottery pattern.  From these on line forums, many believe that this vase was probably made some time between 1860 and 1890, and that it was probably produced in the Staffordshire region of England.  POMPEYI may have been the pattern name, and that this piece is English majolica.  I do not want to represent it as either Hungarian or English.  Look at the antique forums for Pompeyi vase and you decide.  It is an interesting piece!!  It is in nice condition with only minor flaking of the majolica finish in spots.  This vase would make an excellent addition to any 19th century pottery collection.
This year marks my 42nd year as an estate liquidator
.    I have been using eBay for the past few years  to help liquidate items, many of which come from assisted living communities where estate sales
cannot be held out of concern for the security for the other residents.   I strive to be accurate in my listing descriptions.  If you have a question or concern about any item, please contact me BEFORE making an offer.   Payment is appreciated and expected within 24 hours of purchase.  I will usually ship out the item the following day using USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Home Delivery.   The postage shown in my listing is ONLY AN ESTIMATE.   The actual amount may be higher or lower depending on the location of the buyer.  Please wait for an invoice before making payment, if possible.   The invoice should correctly reflect the amount of postage to your zip code.  Also, upon receiving your item in the mail, you have TWO DAYS to report any damage which occurred during transit. I DO NOT SELL INTERNATIONALLY.  If you are an individual or company that re-ships items to other parts of the world, my liability for damage will end once the package arrives at the United States address you provide.    Also sales tax will be collected by eBay when required by individual states.
