ANTIQUE HUBLEY “SMOKY JOE” CAST IRON CAP GUN - YEAR 1940***

Description

This “SMOKEY JOE” cap gun was made in 1940 with a three star rating for rarity. It is described in Sam Logan/Charles Best book entitled “CAST IRON TOY GUNS AND CAPSHOOTERS” on page 136 (S25.1). This gun is 8 1/8 inches in length and is a heavy solid cap gun. It is a multi shot, double action; pulling the trigger fires the toy. The toy gun takes a roll of caps and has a cylinder which doesn’t rotate. On both sides of the gun there is a circled red star. The words “SMOKEY JOE” are clearly embossed on both sides of the body of the cap gun, and the words "MADE IN U.S.A." are engraved on the right side.
This is a heavy solid cap gun in good condition but does show some wear. Pursuant to eBay rules, a plug has been placed in the end of the toy gun; and cannot be modified to fire any projectiles.
