CakeSafe OG Acrylic Icing Scraper with Angled Edge (on One Side) CakeSafe's OG icing scraper (the company's original acrylic angled scraper) is a great tool to get perfectly smooth sides on your cakes. The beveled edge can be pressed up against the edges of CakeSafe's acrylic disks (sold separately) and will remove, cleanly and quickly, any excess buttercream or ganache from the sides of your cake. Even used without the disks (sold separately), the icing scraper makes the sides of your tiers crisp and clean, and will save you time. Please note that this scraper is very sharp and comes to a very precise point in order to achieve the smoothest possible finish on your cake. Bakers prefer the OG icing scraper because it is clear so you can see what's happening to your icing on the other side of the scraper as you're working. Use extreme care and caution when handling the scraper — since it comes to such a thin edge, it is sharp and fragile. Dropping or mishandling may result in tiny chips that will affect the scraper's use. Hand wash with mild soap. Smooth icing tip: Rest the sharp point against your icing with light pressure (the engraving facing away from you). Hold the scraper at a 45 degree angle and keep the bottom of your scraper flat on your turntable. Keep your scraper in place and rotate your turntable. Heavy pressure will create air pockets and holes in your icing and take longer to smooth.
