Miracle powder created as a byproduct of aging wine. This powder is used to clean metals, remove laundry stains, stablize egg whites, add creamy texture to frostings, and is added to bath bombs and fizzies. Can be used in place of citric acid, use half the amount called for. Also try it in bubble bars.
Cream of tartar is created when grapes destined to become wine undergo fermentation. Cream of tartar increases volume and stabilizes whipped egg whites. It gives creamier texture to candies & frostings while preventing crystallization of sugar syrups. Used to reduce discoloration in cooking vegetables. Used in photography products. Paste mixed with water, lemon, or vinegar is used for cleaning metals (coins, brass, copper, etc.). Old recipes used to call for the use of cream of tartar with baking soda, but modern baking soda now contains cream of tartar. It produces carbon dioxide, which helps baked goods to rise. Also used to remove laundry stains.
