    Description

Many early Majolica butter pats were created in shapes of assorted leaves of common plants of the era. This pat, one of two sold individually, is in the shape of a leaf possibly a maple leaf. It is decorated in earth tone blended glaze of green, browns and gold. Unmarked, I suspect it was produced in England or a western European country around the turn of the 20th century. It measures 2 7/8” by 3 1/2”. The piece is in excellent condition, I will mention and visible in the pictures that several popped glaze bubbles can be seen and felt on the backside of the pat. These are often the case with early Majolica.  Some crazing visible in the glaze. Great example, please look for the matching chip in my store. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
Please check back to my store often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.
    Thank you.
