WONDERFUL 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE ENGLISH MAJOLICA POTTERY 6" PITCHER DECORATED WITH COLORFUL BLACKBERRY DESIGN
Most likely produced by SHORTER & SON IN STOKE-ON-TRENT, c. 1880-1900. Bottom is not marked.
THIS NICE PITCHER IS DECORATED WITH BRANCHES OF BLACKBERRIES, FLOWERS AND FOLIAGE IN HIGH RELIEF. THE CREAM COLORED BACKGROUND HAS A TEXTURED "BARK" PATTERN AND THE INTERIOR IS A RICH RASPBERRY COLOR .
THE PITCHER IS IN very good CONDITION. There is some crazing throughout and some marks on the exterior as well as a small mark inside the pitcher (see photo #4) and a hairline on its bottom (see photo #12).
MEASURES 6" HIGH, 6 3/4" WIDE (HANDLE TO SPOUT) WITH A 3 3/4" DIAMETER BASE.
